Should the weather clear up for Saturday, there will be no place in the 16 for John Jack

Jack limped out of the match at Kilwinning with a hamstring strain and is unlikely to feature until the end of the month.

JJ told today's Clydebank Post "I am really disappointed to be missing out as everyone wants to play in the big cup games against your Polloks and your Carnousties.

"I've played them a few times before and they are a strong side. When I was at Shettleston, they knocked us out of the semi-final stage in a match at Dens Park.

"And another time we drew with them up there then took them back to Shettleston and won. I played them again when I was at Beith and we won again, so I've done alright against them.

"But you just never know what side will turn up on the day, hopefully we get them on a bad day. The key is not to respect them.

"We need to play our own game and don't give them any time to play. In your career you will always come up against better players so you have to be on your toes.

"If everyone stays focussed and does their job then there will be nothing to worry about."

Brother Alan featured and scored in the friendly runout on Monday night and is fighting to get a place in the 16 and the inclement weather may help him should the game be put back a week.

John went on "Alan scored on Monday so he could well get twenty minutes if the manager thinks he is ready. It bodes well for the team to have players like him coming back.

"And with the new players like Brian Smith and Iain Anderson available too, the last couple of matches we have not played much football, but these guys can change that.

"You know because they've played at a higher level it will only be good for the club.

"I can't stand watching games from the sidelines, and even if we win I am unhappy as I just want to be playing.

"The park at Yoker has been pretty bad — it's fine for me cause I just kick people and win headers — but for the others it is frustrating.

"Clydebank has always done well in the cup and hopefully we can go that extra bit further."

Kevin Proctor is also expected to return to training soon after a lenghty absence following an operation to treat a hip injury late last year.
