Bankies step up a gear when they host Arthurlie at Holm Park on Saturday afternoon, 2pm kick off

Budgie McGhie has been impressed with te early signs that saw Bankies win 2-1 at Premier League Cumnock before dispatching of Ardeer by 7-0 on Monday night.

Today's hosting of Arthurlie sees his side up against stronger opposoition before taking on Dumbarton away from home on Wednesday night.

For today's match, captain Gary Lynn, Ross McPherson, Stevie Dallas and Chris Mackie are all expected to miss out with varying knocks. Brain Smith is on holiday and so is also unavailable.

As is always the case at this time of year, several trialists are expected to beef up the squad as players look to win a contract with The Bankies.

The sides faced each other twice last season, Bankies winning 2-0 at Dunterlie on their way to winning the Central League Cup before The 'Lie got revenge aith a 2-0 win at Holm Park in the Evening TImes Cup Winners Cup in June.
