Bankies kicked off the league season with a victory at Holm Park although the scoreline could and should have been a much wider margin but for a superb display from the visitors keeper

The first half was a rather even affair with both sides going close at either end.

Bankies should have wen in front after twenty minutes when they were awarded a penalty kick after the keeper brought down Dallas and earned a booking.

The keeper redeemed himself however when he saved GARY LYNN's effort.

Campbell came close when the keeper saved his 25 yard effort with 35 minutes on the clock.

Six minutes later and Bankies took the lead. JOHN JACK headed home a Stevie Dallas cross from six yards out for a half time advantage.

Campbell was again unlucky when his 20 yard rocket was punched away by the keeper with barely a minute of the scond half gone.

Whittlets fought back and should have scored just after the hour mark but the attacker skied over after good build up play.

Six minutes later(again!) and Bankies were awarded another penalty, this time for a soft handball decision. This time STEVIE DYMOCK stepped up and saw his effort saved by the keeper.

Clydebank were begginning to take control now and finally doubled the lead with 57 minutes played. STEVIE DALLAS took a pass and drilled the ball across the goalkeeper for a bit of breathing space.

Just after the hour mark the game opened up even further. Good play on the left hand side ended with PAUL ALLUM converting Brian Smith's cross although the keeper should have done better.

Bankies boss Budgie McGhie made three changes with Hobbs, Molloy and Selkirk all coming on for Cairney, Harvey and Dallas.

Selkirk had the best chance of the closing stages when he forced the keeper into a save with minutes to go.

The visitors pulled one back in stoppage time. A long range effort beat Gonet but rebounded off the bar for an attacker to knock home from close range.

A well deserved win for The Bankies which would have been three or four more if not for the visiting goalkeeper.
