Budgie McGhie's Clydebank made it six wins on the spin in all competitions with an empjhatic win over Dalry at Holm Park on a cold Saturday afternoon

Holm Park passed a 9am inspection by the referee and gave Bankies the chance to try and fire themselves up the table with a victory.

Within two minutes that victory looked as though it could be on the cards. Vezza picked up a loose ball in the middle of the Dalry half and tried to find Hailstones whose attempted flick didn't come off due to a bobble on the surface however it ran through nicely for NIKKY CAIRNEY to slot past the Dalry keeper and give Bankies a dream start.

It took a further twelve minutes for The Bankies to double their lead. Gary Lynn picked out Hailstones in the middle of the Thislte half and sprayed the ball out wide right to Brian Smith who went down the right wing before putting in a perfect cross for the inrushing MARK HAILSTONES to volley in at the near post for a fine strike.

Dalry responded with  a header oming off the back post following a good move down the left hand side. From this Bankies broke away down the right hand side. Hailstones and Smith combined and the former picked out Dallas with a cross to the back post. The hitman took a touch on his right foot before drilling an effort towards goal with his left that BRIAN SMITH knocked in from around a yard out to give Bankies a three goal half time cushion.

As is often the case, the away team came out looking to get back into the match quickly and duly managed that. Paul Allum failed to deal with a long ball that Stefan Gonet had come looking for and a poor clearance feel to the foot of BOB HAY who pulled a goal back for the visitors.

McGhie made a few changes intorducing Selkirk, Cmapbell and Molloy from th ebench as Bankies saw the game out and lift themselves into fourth in the table with a mouth watering trip to league leaders Rutherglen next in line.
