So Bankies play off push was to end in sadness as they couldn't hit the net enought times in the 2nd leg at Holm Park. Apologies for late report due to holidays.

In truth the damage was done at Moor Park when Lanark triumphed 2-0 over 10 man Bankies following Billy Jones sending off in the opening 15 minutes. A late penalty miss by Stevie Dallas typified the first leg and meant Bankies were looking to at least win 2-0 at Holm Park in the Friday game.

Injury deprived Budgie McGhie of a number of players and he made changes to his squad.

Bankies created a host of chances throughout. The best in the opening 20 minutes saw Dallas shake off his marker and go one on one but lifted his effort over the advancing keeper and the crossbar.

Bankies owuld take the lead a few minutes later and it was STEVIE DALLAS who controlled a cross and fired home. The joy was short lived as within 90 seconds it was 1-1 as Lanark capitalised on the Bankies rearguard's only lapse of the night.

Clydebank battered their opponents but couldn't find a way through with dodgy defending somehow working and poor finishing proving costly.

BILLY JONES gave the Bankies hope when he headed home at the back post with over 20 minutes to go. From then on Clydebank attacked and played some of their best stuff in years.

Sadly for Budgie McGhie, the players and the large Clydebank support, the crucial third goal never arrived and the visitors somehow managed to stay in the top flight while Budgie draws the plans for next seasons promotion push.
