Bankies progressed into the last 8 of the Citylink Scottish Junior Cup and set up a trip to Petershill after defeating 2004 winners Carnoustie on penalties
Bankies progressed on penalties after the sides battled out another draw. The home side again finished the game with 9 men although it didn't hinder them too much.
It was all Carnoustie in the first half but for all the opportunities they created, they only went in 1-0 up at the break due to bad finishing and the once again outstanding Stefan Gonet.
Bankiesuppedthe tempo in the second half and introduced Charlie Hobbs and he was to turn the game on it's head.
Hobbs got onto a fine through ball and waspulled back by the defender in the box as he was about to pull the trigger. Penalty and astraight red for the offender.
As like last week, Gary Lynn converted to pull Bankies level.
Hobbs then had the chanceof the game. Again clean through he fired inches wide with the tie there for the taking.
Carnoustie then went down to 9 men with minutes left when a midfielder picked up a second yellow.
Neither side could find a winner and it was onto spotkicks.
Gary Lynn saw his effort saved and Carnoustie went in front. Gavin Rushford, Alan Jack and Iain Anderson all converted for Bankies while Stefan Gonet saved one, saw one beat him and another go over the bar.
It was down to Charlie Hobbs to seal Bankies place in the last eight and he didn't let anyone down. Bankies fans poured onto the park to celebrate with the players and management as Carnoustie thought about what could have been had they taken thier first half chances.
